Carrying out EICRs are one of our strongest expertise. And so it should be, we've done enough of them!
To properly conduct a thorough EICR, you will need an experienced electrician with the correct test equipment and a keen eye. They also need to really get into the nitty gritty of the installation, and allocate enough time to do so. For a standard 3 bed house, we'd allocate around a half day to carry out the check and fill out the certificate.
We have really honed in on how we arrange the EICR visits and conduct them, with a lot of our learnings going into our 6 step customer journey process. Not only that, we know clients like us walking away with a pass from the first visit, which is why we introduced our Quick Win Scheme' - We usually say allow £200 to the side as a PC sum. If we can pass the property by fixing the things we find there and then, we'll do it.
Sometimes we aren't always that lucky - sometimes we find bigger issues which need to be quoted separately, and unfortunately we'll have to return on another day in order to carry out the remedials and get the property the big tick it deserves.
Enough about us - Let's take a look at some of the juicy stuff we've found!
And did we mention? We have a FREE DIY EICR E-Book that anyone can use, without even having to pick up a screwdriver! It is a simple guide that lets the general public take a look around their installation and gauge the sort of electrical risks they may not have even been aware of! Download it here:
All we ask is that we may contact you via email in future to see you've been getting on with your DIY EICR, and dropping handy hints and tips for you to enjoy!
Approx 98% of the finds you see here have been found by us, and some were juicy ones we've artfully stolen with the original creator's permission.
