A showcase of one of our bathroom extractor fan systems we fitted for a client in Tonbridge who really needed help with the battle against black mould.

Black mould in bathrooms is a common issue, especially in spaces with high moisture levels and limited ventilation. One of our recent clients reached out to us, frustrated with constant condensation issues, which was leading to relentless black mold growth on the tiles and silicone in their bathroom. Despite having a previous attempt at ventilation installed, the system was simply not up to the job, especially in their bathroom with two—potentially three—external walls and a cold, unheated loft above, which only amplifies the condensation.

Our solution? We installed an advanced, dual-option extractor fan system designed to tackle even the most persistent moisture issues. This setup includes an “override” mode that allows the fan to run continuously, providing consistent ventilation throughout the colder winter months when condensation tends to be at its worst. Additionally, a “boost” option was added, which activates a secondary fan to increase airflow and reduce moisture build-up even faster when needed.

This has been one of our most robust installations to date, tackling excess humidity, reducing mold growth, and creating a healthier, cleaner bathroom environment for our client.
