This commercial client came to us having had a report of a broken floor light on their grounds. There was risk of cuts and trips if a member of the public happened to step onto the light. We disassembled the light to get make and model numbers, and to get dimensions if a perfect swap wasn't available, so we'd know what else would fit the hole. 

This was a 6pm call out, with all electrical wholesalers being shut (and even if they were open, none of them would have had anything similar on the shelf, because it's not a common product), we isolated the light, packed out the recess, and made it waterproof to keep it safe til we could attend for the repair.
